I designed and built a limited-edition, leather-bound copy
of George Orwell's Animal Farm when I was a student
at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The project was a
requirement of the graphic communication department's
book design technology course. In the Bookbuilders
West competition, my book was judged against many
other entries submitted by students from colleges
throughout the west coast.

ADDITIONAL INFO
Each year, the Cal Poly Graphic Communication
Department holds a technical writing competition.
During this competition, graphic communication students
are asked to submit research papers that highlight topics
related to the gravure printing process.

My paper on shrink sleeve labels won second place.
In addition, my paper was published in the October 2005
issue of Gravure Magazine. The paper was also published
in Cal Poly's 2006 edition of the Technical Association
of the Graphic Arts Journal.
